TITLE: MSc programme in Project Management
  • Content:
The MSc programme in Project Management seeks to make a difference in in the teaching offer in Project Management in Romania, by promoting high standards of quality. The mission of the MSc programme in Project Management consists of contributing to the professionalizing of Project Management in Romania, to the training of specialists in the implementation of private investment projects and organizational development and to promoting Project Management as macroeconomic strategy.

 

  • Target group:
Students who have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree and want to follow a career path in project management and adults who aspire  to become professionals in project  management. Another target group consits of students or specialists who  aspire to become professionals or to better fulfill the essential condition to obtain and manage EU-funded programmes and projects.

 

  • Graduates:
The MSc enrolls full time and online students. Regarding to the graduating classes for the full time programme, there have been seven of them so far, counting 265 students enrolled on the whole, and 226 students who graduated. Starting with the 2004-2006 generation, the MSc programme in Project Management has offered online studies, with four graduating classes so far. Online studies have counted 901 enrolled students of which 515 graduated.

 

  • Duration:

The MSc programme in Project Management has offered a 1,5 year full time programme so far. Due to the fact that the National School of Political and Administrative Studies shares the principles stipulated in Magna Charta of European University (Bologna, 1998) and Bologna Declaration (1999), starting with the academic year 2008-2009 the MSc in Project Management also promotes a 2 year full time programme.

  • Features:

The courses of the MSc programme in Project Management are delivered on campus, for the full time programme, and online. Full time students are in direct contact with the professors. Students attend courses and seminars presented by professors and their  assistants, they are encouraged to participate in the teaching process, ask questions and provide arguments for different topics related to the courses themes. The online program also promotes a direct contact with the professors and the assistants, but this type of program implies the use of computers connected to the Internet. The teaching process and the professor-student interaction needs a educational platform for e-learning. This educational platform provides students with the following facilities: a forum for online courses and seminars, online examination system, forum for discussion of topics and frequently asked questions, online system of solving projects and applications, online evaluation of projects, applications, exercises and tests. Moreover, the e-learning platform also allows student-student interaction, through the chat service. Due to this facilities, the e-learning educational platform ensures the successful training and continuous evaluation of students.

  • Courses:

The MSc programme in Project Management offers the following core and optional courses which comprise an overall of 120 ECTS:

  • Project Management I (basic);
  • Project Management II (advanced);
  • Globalization and European Integration;
  • Management of EU-funded projects;
  • Financial analysis of projects;
  • Evaluation and audit of projects;
  • Applications and case studies on projects;
  • Promotion campaigns for EU-funded projects;
  • Preparation and implementation of research projects;
  • Software applications for project management;
  • Crisis management in projects (optional);
  • Research seminar;
  • Jean Monnet Module: “Communicating Europe: Policies and Strategies for Increasing EU’s Visibility among Member States” (optional);
  • Internship.
